ABOUT THIS PROJECT

When JKS Restaurants decided to open a second site of one of London’s best-loved restaurants, Hoppers, they required a furniture company that could manufacture high-quality, stylish yet durable banquette seating and tables. We were on-hand to offer our expertise for the furniture production.

The hotly anticipated Hoppers no. 2 boasts a larger space than its Soho predecessor and is based on Wigmore Street on St Christopher’s Place. The interiors designed by Katy Manolescue of Article Design Studio, have been inspired by the Jungle Modernist movement associated with late Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa and his notion of transporting the outside Sri Lankan landscape into the modern home.

Various configurations of banquette seating were designed for both the ground floor and basement areas of the restaurant. We manufactured the banquettes in steel with a satin black powder coating and each has been carefully upholstered in soft leather and comes with matching scatter cushions.

Other seating within the restaurant consists of custom-made slatted black-stained and oiled timber benches, also framed in steel with decorative features and finished with black powder coating. Along with, L shaped steel seating units upholstered in soft black leather pads.

Several styles of tables were commissioned including those with stone tops and trumpet bases, reclaimed black oak tops and Silestone tops set in a stained oak surrounds.

The bespoke furniture was completed within budget and on time and was fitted by our specialist team ready for the mid-September opening.
